Picsart Launches Creator Monetization Program to Reward AI Creativity
Picsart is stepping into the creator economy with the launch of a new monetization program, giving users a chance to earn directly from their creative work.
According to LumenCodes, the initiative is open to everyone—there are no invite-only barriers or minimum follower requirements. Instead of prioritizing audience size, the program focuses on creativity and performance, allowing creators to earn based on how well their content resonates.
How It Works
Creators can participate by producing original content using Picsart’s tools for specific campaigns. After creating their content, they share it on social platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X.
Once posted, they submit their content through a dashboard, including the URL, campaign tags, and a brief explanation of how the piece was created using Picsart.
The platform then calculates earnings based on engagement metrics such as views, comments, shares, and overall reach. Creators can track their performance in real time and withdraw their earnings via Stripe.
Focus on Real Creativity
Picsart emphasizes that simply generating AI content isn’t enough—creators need to add originality and effort to stand out. Campaigns may include prompts like designing imaginative visuals (e.g., fluffy creatures) using Picsart Aura, its AI-powered assistant capable of generating and animating images and videos through text or voice.
A Shift Toward a Creator Platform
With this move, Picsart is evolving beyond being just a design tool into a full-fledged creator platform. The goal is to attract and retain users by offering real earning opportunities, especially for everyday creators who often struggle to monetize their content on larger platforms.
Founder and CEO Hovhannes Avoyan highlighted this shift, noting that the program aims to fix a long-standing issue in the creator economy—lack of fair compensation for smaller creators.
The Bigger Picture
Founded in 2011, Picsart now serves over 130 million users globally and achieved unicorn status during the creator economy boom in 2021. This monetization program follows another recent innovation: an AI agent marketplace where users can “hire” AI tools for tasks like content resizing, remixing, or product photo editing for platforms like Shopify.
Overall, Picsart is positioning itself at the intersection of AI and the creator economy—where making content isn’t just creative expression, but a potential income stream.
